Hardwood Hearts Game Analysis

The game I played this week was Hardwood Hearts card game. Hardwood Hearts uses the standard 52-card pack. The object of the game is to score the least amount of points as possible. The game finishes when any player scores 100 or more points. The winner is the player with the least amount of points. The player who played the highest card of the suit that was led takes the trick. The 2 card has the lowest rank and the ace has the highest rank. Hearts can be lead at the beginning of a round only if a player only have hearts or hearts have been broken. Hearts are broken when a player cannot follow suit. Each heart is worth 1 point and Queen of Spades or the Black Maria is worth 13 points. When a player takes all the heart cards and the Queen of …show more content…
Strategy in a game highlights thoughtful and planned use of assets to achieve victory. A players' decision-making abilities have a tremendous impact in shaping the result of the game. There are various types of strategy games with other genres, such as platform games, role-playing games (RPGs), and some action games contain strategy elements. Video games that have strategy elements regularly maintain careful planning of gameplay choices. Generally, strategy applies to decisions that affect the overall state of gameplay. Strategy games provide players with emotional experiences like tension, fun, or fear.
During the of the game of hearts, I noticed some strategy elements during different stages of the game. They include the beginning, middle, and end of the game. They consist of rules, themes, and end game conditions.
Rules are important in the game of hearts. Rules clearly communicate to players what they need to know and what they need to do in order for them to play the game. For example, in the first round after each player receives their cards, the player passes three cards to the player on the left. In the second, they pass to the player on the right. In the third, they pass to the player opposite them. In the fourth, no cards are passed. This sequence of passing cards is repeated for each

The other players followed in a clockwise direction and played a card of the same suit. If they were unable to follow the suit, they played an alternate card from a different suit. No hearts or the queen of spades can be played in the first round. The suit in my hand consisted of the J, 10, 9, 8, 7 of clubs. This was a strong candidate to draw out the Queen of Spades. The next round, I received a suit containing the A, Q, 10, 9, 6, 4, 2 of spades. This presented no danger because of the low cards. In order for players to have an entertaining experience, rules must be complete and human-friendly.
Themes are important in strategy games. Hardwood hearts has an attractive classic interface that is filled with delightful graphics and an enchanting gameplay. The game has a colorful medieval theme which is played on a rustic hardwood table and featuring enchanting music and imagery. A player can choose from different fantasy card themes that are preloaded with the game or customizable

During the time period of this novel, it was noticeably unusual for a woman to play cards; especially if she was skilled at the game. This is apparent, as no other character except Fleur is willing to even attempt gambling against the men in Argus. However, despite such an activity being uncommon for a woman, Fleur relentlessly plays against the three men throughout the second chapter. In addition to this, Fleur easily bests them at what was thought to be a, “man’s game.” This is shown when Pauline observes that, “Lily looked once, looked again, then he squeezed the dog like a fist of dough and slammed it on the table.…
