How to Clean, Repair, and Protect Your Hardwood Floors

Here are two common methods you can use.
Wax
Paste wax is a great way to protect floors that do not currently have a treatment on them. You can apply wax with a lint-free cloth by spreading the wax around in a circular motion. If there are globs of wax on the floor, it means you have applied too much wax. Let the wax dry before applying a second coat. Use a towel to buff the surface and make it shine.
Polyurethane
Polyurethan will be more difficult than wax to apply to a floor. It involves applying 3 coats of polyurethane with a applicator made of lambs wool, and sanding between each coat. After 3 days, the floors should be fully cured. If you have stained the floors prior to applying polyurethane, know that applying polyurethane before the stain had dried can cause discoloration.

Sealcoating cures best when it is not freezing nor scolding hot outside, nice spring temperatures that range from the fifties to the seventies. If you wait to sealcoat your parking lot in the summer, when the temperatures are a lot hotter, it can take longer for your parking lot to cure.
