The type of cancer he had was one that was extremely rare, and according to the doctors it was also one of the most painful. It all had happened with something as miniscule as a birthmark, but it ended up becoming something worse and continued to get complicated overtime. My uncle and I were so close; he was my best friend. Back then, just seeing him suffer in a hospital bed just after being married starting his own life and future, devastated me. Every time I would go visit him in the hospital I would greet him, hug him, then sit quietly doing my homework and pretended that everything was aright and that he would be okay. However, I could not believe the lies I tried telling myself no matter how many times I would repeat them. The doctors filled everyone with false hope. Just lying to everyone’s face that he had nothing within his body yet there I was searching what was happening to his body and I found out his organs were dying from the inside the reason being why he had disposed of a bloody discharge form his body. I knew we were losing him and everyone else would no grasp to that. They were not planning to give in, everyone clung to

Adversity took over my life, it spun me around and beat me till I could not see. It had a tremendous impact on my life, whether it was simple things like a parents separation to stressful things like ‘where am I getting this week’s bus money if I have none myself.’ Moreover, growing up with one parent made me assume responsibility for the missing parent in each picture. Nonetheless, I never let the issues at home affect me, if anything I allowed it to let me grow. I learned to be independent and take care of the house like a mother, and, I learned to take care of my own bills and be financially smart like a father.…

The adversity I faced throughout my life because of these issues greatly shaped the woman I am today.…
