The organization I chose to analyze is a fast-food company called Hardee’s. I’ve been working for Hardee’s for two years. In 1960, the first Hardee’s restaurant opened in Greenville, North Carolina. Hardee’s offered charcoal-broiled hamburgers, fast service, and a drive thru window. In the 1970s, Hardee’s introduced their “made from scratch” biscuits that are still a popular menu item today. Hardee’s menu boasts quality hand-breaded chicken tenders, hand-scooped milkshakes, and more. A decade later in the 1980s, Hardee’s endorsed California Raisin company when it introduced the cinnamon n’ raisin biscuits to its menu. In the 1990s, CKE, a California-based restaurant company which owns a similar fast-food chain, Carl’s Jr. acquired the restaurant chain from Canadian company Imasco. In 2003, Hardee’s chose to focus on its Thickburger line which consisted of the one-third, one-half, and two-third pound burgers. The company now franchises more than 1,900 restaurants in 30 U.S. states and nine countries (Hardee’s, n.d.). …show more content…
The work atmosphere is fast-paced as customers dine-in during high business periods and use the drive-thru service window each day. Unlike other popular fast food companies, like McDonald’s and Wendy’s, Hardee’s has a very broad menu. Hardee’s thickburgers are most popular, but the restaurant also boasts its Red Burrito menu which includes tacos, burritos, chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, and more. Also uncommon in most fast-food restaurants is the Hardee’s unique food preparation process. The fresh-baked bun used for thickburgers is baked in ovens every morning providing a better-quality bun than most fast food
