Hard Work Pays Off

I think it is sad that athletes feel that they are under so much pressure to win that they turn to drugs to ensure their best possible performance. They shouldn’t just resort to drugs they should work and train hard just like everyone else “Hard work pays off” is starting still a very true statement but its sad to think that the athletes that are drug doping don’t have to work as hard as other athletes because they have a huge help from steroids and other forms drugs that increase muscle and strength. The Olympic games is a large sporting event designed to show the entire nation who are the 3 best athletes in the world in chosen sport. So when athletes are cheating by using drugs to become one of the best 3 people in the world in a certain sport they are beating people who are clean and haven’t used drugs and they have worked very hard to get where they are. An example of a drug cheat beating a genuine hardworking athlete was at the London 2012 Olympics in the shot-put event between Nadzeya Ostapchuk and Valerie Adams. Ostapchuk tested positive in two separate drugs tests at the games. Ostapchuk won the event with a throw of 21.36m beating Valerie’s 20.70m it later came out that Ostapchuk have failed two drug tests at the games but this was after Ostapchuk stood on the podium in front of everyone and accepted the gold medal knowing that she had drug doped. I’m disgusted at the lengths people go to cheat. I don’t know how they can be satisfied or proud of themselves knowing that are drug cheats. I also feel very sorry for the athletes that work as hard as they do to get where they are but they aren’t given the awards they disserve because of the people the are drug
