Most of the time in life’s lessons, hard work leads to success. This was evident in the short story, “The Marble Champ” by Gary Soto. Lupe, the main character, showed that hard work leads to success in the beginning, middle, and end of the story. The first reason why hard work leads to success was shown in the beginning of the story when she was in school. Lupe working really hard to win things and do well academically in school and on the playground proved hard work leads to success. Lupe was the school’s spelling bee champion due to her constant studying and learning new word. Lupe’s hard work studying paid off with her getting all “A’s” in school.
