Hard Work Application Essay

Four months ago I sat upon my grandparents tractor for my customary effort of maintaining their lawn. On this hot summer day I thought about my return to school and how I was going to prepare for it; at this point, senior year was just around the corner and it would be my most important and difficult year of schooling so far. For my final year of high school I wanted to do things differently as I would be preparing for college soon. I knew I had worked diligently through all my years of schooling; however, I wanted to be certain that I was distinguishable from my peers outside of the classroom and also strive to better my own attributes.
After reflecting on my thoughts during that warm August day I came to the realization that I had unconsciously been building myself an impressive resume my whole life. Since adolescence hard work has been stressed upon me. My family has always held me to high standards and have helped encourage me to strive for everything that I am capable of. Today my qualities of hard work are displayed through my ability to simultaneously participate in athletics, clubs, work a part time job, and remain disciplined in my academic work . I have always enjoyed participating in every opportunity presented to me and this has only been made possible through my

Upon enrolling in high school I realized that I could no longer put an average effort into easy class work and be rewarded with academic satisfaction. After joining the honors course along with band and the FFA, it was revealed to me that high school was a different culture than middle school. I quickly discovered that hard work would be required to be successful in everything I will ever do. Band demanded countless hours of practice, but I ultimately gained first chair in the top band, as well as squad leader over the trumpet section. Like band, the FFA required hours of dedication, but I distinguished myself from other FFA members.…

I moved from San Diego, California to Derby, Kansas in the summer of 2017. I joined Derby Middle School, I hadn’t been to a real middle school before, even though I was in seventh grade. I was in online schooling with K-12 at home. I was new to multiple classes and teachers, assignments on paper, and I was new to a lot of people around me. When I joined Derby Middle School, I thought of it like nothing, thinking that no effort would get me through the year, I thought that my grades didn’t matter as long as I get C or higher.…

For the past year, I could only provide an indefinite answer to a frequently asked question, How was your freshman year? In fact, those of us who experienced our freshman year could be addressed as “college veterans” will never initiate a conversation with regard to the past year. Perhaps they consider that the freshman year was not as consummate as they initially planned. I cannot judge my first year in college was successful or frustrating, but I feel I benefited from the meritorious experiences and practical knowledge gained from my college life. In my opinion, no matter what goals one wishes to achieve in college, whether its grade, love, health, or sense of accomplishment, one has to be prepared for both failures and…

Personal Statement I consider myself to have been an active and hard working student during my previous educational stages. My interest in chemistry dates back to secondary school, I've been interested in chemistry, Mathematics and Physics, I wanted to pursue a degree that combines all or most of these, so I chose the Mathematical Sciences department and obtained my High School degree with an overall grade of 99.87 %. After that, I continued my studies in the faculty of petroleum and mining engineering at Suez University, where I had the opportunity to be exposed to the full range of chemical engineering courses like chemical engineering basics, unit operations, equipment design and other courses as listed on my transcript. Finally, I obtained my Bachelor`s degree in…

Resume As you know, due to being sick I have not been able to participate in many activities, along with not being as active in them as I would have liked to in the past three years of high school. Even though being ill has stopped me from doing much outside of school, I am happy for the things I’ve been able to do. POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) has unfortunately consumed a lot of my high school life, but although I have missed over 200 days of school since 9th grade, I have still managed to keep my grades up and am due to graduate with my brothers and rest of my class. 9th Grade: • Fairfield Warde Volleyball • TCA Volleyball • Town Youth Council Member • Key Club Member • Garden Club Member • Babysitter • SOFS Volleyball…

The day of August 27, 2012 I was officially titled a freshman. One look down those unknown red and blue walls, will forever change my perspective of high school. There was an instant moment of disbelief in my freshman, I was terrified, and no thought came to mind as to how I was going to survive high school for the next four years. Of course I knew it'll be different from my tiny middle school, but will it be like the cliché movies about the upcoming of age, or resemble the happiest times of life. From that first day, I knew I wasn’t like everyone else.…

Future Plans and Reasons for Applying for a Farm Bureau Scholarship Some kids play sports in high school. Others march in the band, star in school plays, or join the healthcare career training program. Me, I didn’t do any of those things, because, after middle school, I made the decision to devote my life and career to help better the industry of agriculture in the future. Thus, I didn’t spend my afternoons out on the field or on the stage in high school, I spent mine in barns, animal pens, and classrooms, as an avid member of both 4-H and FFA along with involvement in numerous other programs related to agriculture in the local community. Not trying to brag on myself, although scholarship applications like this are the place to do so, but the accomplishments I achieved in my youth career along with those I continue to achieve have led me to have one of the most decorated resumes…

As a child of immigrant parents, whom never passed secondary education, I had been told several times by my mother, “I came here so you can have the opportunities I never had.” I never took her words in for consideration. Being callow was part of the predicament, and my early teenage mindset kept me in captivity. Unlike my mother, I’ve been oblivious to the fact that as a citizen, I’m capable of achieving anything. During my last two years of high school, I realized that she was utterly right.…

Much like the majority of my peers, I began my college career as a timid, anxious freshman; however, as all of my peers began college with a multitude of friends that had carried over from high school, I began college alone. When I was a sophomore in high school, I made the conscious decision to graduate high school when I was a junior—thus, completing high school in three years instead of four. Though this move would look ambitious on my academic resume, I had failed to factor in the social implications. I had put myself into a position of attending college at the young age of seventeen, unaccompanied as a result of leaving all of my friends behind in high school, and unprepared for the culture shock I was about to receive. So there I was,…

Fall of 2010 and spring of 2012 were the 2 semesters I was inactive after graduating from the University of San Diego. In the fall of 2010 I was acclimating to a life back in Los Angeles and actively looking for a position where I was serving others. I secured a tutoring position in an underserved community for students in grades k thru 12 in the areas of math, science, and English for a startup tutoring company called 1 On 1 Academic Tutors. My greatest competitive advantage became my hunger to succeed and to actualize the life that my parents envisioned for me when they migrated from Mexico. Within the year, I was promoted to Senior Contract Administrator and by fall of 2012 I was creating spreadsheets alongside graphs and analyzing them…

College is hard work, and it can be easy to feel discouraged and lose sight of the end goal. Furthermore, it was worth all the hard work to get such a good grade on my final paper. In addition, the last video of the girl from Afghanistan especially reminded to be grateful for the opportunity that I have to get a good education here at COTC without having fear that the government is trying to hinder me from getting an education.…

My previous work experience has exposed me to a variety of team dynamics and I would describe my exposure as very positive. My love for connecting with people has been a major factor in my overall employment success, such as, two management roles before reaching my twenty’s and also a fulfilling career in the financial industry for nine years. Working in a customer service role for the last 14 years I have faced struggles with communication, as well as developed positive skills to work effectively with others. One of the most essential elements I have learned from working as a Financial Advisor is how to build trust with people. I firmly believe this is key to any successful relationship, rather an employment relationship or otherwise.…
