Happy Looks Like Characters

For this reading strategy, I am supposed to choose an actor/actress for the characters of the book, as long as choose a theme song as if it was going to be made into a movie. I read “This Is What Happy Looks Like” by Jennifer E. Smith. I chose five important characters from the book, to select actors for. The main character of the book was named Ellie O’Neill. Ellie is a practical seventeen year old who lives with her mom, and works at a local ice cream shop. She, along with most of the other characters, live in a small town in Maine. Ellie has red hair, and is rather tall and skinny. For her, I chose Molly C. Quinn. I chose her because I feel like she fits the description that the book gave for the character very well (other than height, but that isn’t particularly important to her character). Another rather important character is Graham Larkin. He is the main male character of the book. He is …show more content…
For Olivia Brooks, Graham’s co-worker, I chose Indiana Evans. I chose her because Olivia is blonde, and I think that this actress kind of looks the part (a snobby star). Then there is Ellie’s best friend, Quinn. She has brown hair and is very short. I decided on Stefanie LaVie Owen. This is a perfect fit because she is five foot two and has brown hair. Also, I think that she could play a quirky character quite well. As far as the theme song, I chose Empty Gold by Halsey. I think that this is a very good theme song, because it would work very well to be played during a movie. It wouldn’t really distract from the scene. Also, I think that it fits the story very well. I think that this song is about two people who are in love, and kind of distract each other from their crazy lives, and have to fight a bit to be together. This is a very good choice to describe Ellie and Graham’s relationship. Not to mention, it’s just a really good

Henrietta Leavitt was played by Katie Piper, Margaret Leavitt was played by Sarah Lambert, Peter Shaw was played by Morgan Gates, Annie Cannon was played by Julia Whalen, and Williamina Fleming was played by Beth Ryan. All of the actors were convincing of the roles they played, and I didn’t dislike any of the actors. Having to choose one favorite actor or character from this play is very difficult, but my favorite actor would be Ms. Ryan, who played the character Williamina Fleming. She was my favorite actor because she portrayed her character the best and she was convincing of her part in the play. I liked that she had a very comical part in the play too.…
