Welcome to Happy Home Hunters. In today’s article we are swooping into the lives of Pat and Fran who sent in an award winning article about their lovely retirement home.
Hello, Happy Home Hunters my husband Pat and I wanted to send you this article to tell you all about our retirement home “Peace Haven.” Pat and I met in Pittsburg where we were both teachers at Pittsburg University. I taught molecular science while my husband Pat taught decretive arts. It was getting close to Pats retirement time when we received news about our daughter (Dana) would be having our first grandchild. Since Dana is an amputee we knew she would need a lot of help when the baby arrived so we immediately started looking for a retirement home closer to Dana, in Fayetteville

Lastly, we wanted not only a retirement home but some place that had amenities and culture, as well as a decent hospital. So, on our search we came across a place called “Peace Haven,” in Greenville, NC. When we first entered the property they immediately sold us on the amenities. This place had everything from a pool to a tennis court to a movie theater to a walking path. They explained to us that this was a college town which meant there was always something to do. People ages ranging from 55 and up were out and about, versus the other apartments we looked at that were like ghost towns. Next, they sold us on it being a universally designed venue. With the lights to signal me as to what’s going on around the apartment I would feel more in control. Lastly, it was Pats turned to be impressed. As we entered the apartment we were told that all the finishes and appliances could be up graded. Check one for Pat. Next, Pat told the lady that we would

Usha and Manoj, 1) I am currently actively pushing to move both suites at your property at 2090 Sugarloaf Parkway. a) Second Floor 1,250 SF suite: As far as the second floor space (1,250 SF) is concerned, I continue to receive and come across rather "random" inquiries and prospects, but none of them appear truly substantive or qualified. And these prospects simply do not exhibit overt professionalism. Although there has been various sorts of inquiries, as an example, a few days ago, I've received an inquiry from a prospect stating that he is just starting out a general contracting business (less than a year in operation) and says he is interested in a lease not more than 12 months. For an identical space like yours elsewhere, I would've have probably already leased it to a small professional, but reliable tenants such as a small CPA, single person operation attorney with an assistant or two, insurance agency that is reliable, psychologist who have been in practice for some time, etc, etc., etc.,, but many of the prospects that I have run to in this neighborhood (and continue to come across) are prospects in an "unproven" business and/or lacks any traceable history within one particular industry.…

The American Dream has taken on new interpretations for each generation. Each interpretation is directly related to the economy at that particular time. When you ask is home ownership still a part of the American Dream I would have to say the term “ownership” is what has changed. Delving deeper into the staff issues I asked my grandmother to describe if she has experienced any issues with response to call lights as my mother described earlier. My grandmother began her response to this question by stating that within this facility most problems are related to one another. As a result of this cycle, since the facility is so understaffed the response to calls is awful. The maximum time that is allotted to the staff to respond to a call is 8-10 minutes however, my grandmother frequently is forced to wait up to 35 minutes to be assisted. In addition, because the staff is overworked from being understaffed they are oftentimes rude and reluctant to help when they arrive.…

"This is it," I answered, wishing I could crawl inside his head and see his first impressions of our simple mountain home. Deep inside I believed curiosity had been the impetus behind my nephew's visit. Had we lived a "normal" life, I'm not so sure he would have ever made the trip, especially by himself. We felt honored that my nephew had come all the way across the country for a visit and intended on giving him exactly what he'd requested: an authentic, "White Pines" experience, crazy or not.…

Everyone in the world most likely has a different meaning and understanding of the frequently used word, “home”. There is so many ways to define home. Per Dictionary.com, home is defined as, “a house, apartment, or other shelter that is the usual residence of a person, family, or household” or “the place or region where something is native or most common.” Except, these definitions are very general and do not really explain the true meaning of a home. As we see in The Glass Castle Jeannette and the Walls family mainly describe home as a place where they can stay for some time before having to leave due to bills or something along the lines.…
