Emotions In Twelfth Night

Throughout anyone’s lifetime there are ups and downs. Essentially a person’s life is like an emotional roller coaster and sometimes in life the person is up high and sometimes they are at the low point. The main point is that humans are an emotional animal and at the end of your day, your heart leads to the correct decision. That’s the case with Twelfth Night that everyone in the play was on an emotional roller coaster and eventually most of them reached their destinations with or without their knowledge. In Twelfth Night, Viola followed her heart and it leads to a happy ending at the end of the story. This is another elaborate example of when you follow your heart and you get what you want. According to Fabian, “And let no quarrel nor no brawl to come taint the condition of this present hour” (5.1.350-351). Fabian claims this to be a beautiful moment since Sir Toby got his revenge on Malvolio and Malvolio realizes the truth about the love of Olivia. Although this was a cruel joke, but credits to Sir Toby for following his heart and finally achieving the revenge that he wants. In other examples such as The Huntsman: Winter War the leading character, Eric, believes that through love anything can be endured and if you follow your heart it’ll eventually take you to the correct path. In the movie, Eric was deceived by the main villain, Freya, in believing that his wife died. After seven years from the deception Eric finally realizes that his wife is alive and through their adventure they both follow their head and eventually defeating Freya.
