Jones. She has a BA degree in education but is currently pursuing her Masters in education. I also had a chance to meet a veteran teacher named Ms. B., which holds a Masters in degree in education. All of the children loved Ms. B. but they also respected her. Ms. B knew all of the state rules, regulations, and guidelines. She was like a walking manual. The two worked closely together. Their classrooms were right next door to each other. However, I had the opportunity to work in the classroom with Ms. Jones and her assistant. Ms. Jones had 15 students and two assistant teachers. She 's very kind hearted and the only thing that she ever thought about was how could she enhance the life of her students. She believed that every child had the ability to learn even those that had mild disibilites. I was amazed by the way that she managed her classroom. I often forgot that the children were only 3 and 4 years old. They were so advanced for their age. The children could recognize their colors and numbers in english and in spanish. What amazed me the most were that they could recognize the letters in their names and trace with little to no assistance. The students vocabulary increased weekly. During story time she would introduce new words to the …show more content…
Ms. Jones has a student in her class named John and he has autism. At times John is out of control and he disturbs the classroom setting. No one in Ms. Jones class is certified or have experience in dealing with children with disibilities. I feel that it 's a disadvantage for John as well as for the classroom as a whole. I would recommend that the center has someone on staff that has experience or is specialized in dealing with students with disibilities. Ms. Jones is a great teacher but none of her techniques seem to reach John. This student normally disturbs the class once he arrives at mid day.
Secondly, the facility needs more staffing or the staffing coodinator should reevaluate the way that she schedule staff. I noticed that Ms. Jones assistants had to take over her class at times because she had to take over another class. This left her class discombobulated and also it stressed her students out. Her assistants had to calm the children down and explain to them where she were, why she was there, and that she were coming

Wednesday, September 16th, 2015 I did my observation of Paul Dunbar Middle School. Some of the first things I noticed when I entered the school was how enormous the school’s population is and how the school was mostly Hispanic and African American students. I arrived at the front desk and was asked by the assistant principal what was my preference of classroom. She then proceeded to take me the section of the school where the ESE classes are held. ESE stands for exceptional student education classes.…

This semester, I enrolled in Early Childhood Education 350 (ECE) at Consumes River College, which transfers over to Sacramento State as Child Development 35F. ECE 350 is a course that incorporates lecture and fielded experience at a school site. I was a student volunteer at John Reith Elementary school for an AM and PM kindergarten class. Ms. Moua is the morning instructor, and this is her first year at John Reith and Ms. Din is the afternoon instructor and is a veteran at John Reith. John Reith is a titled one school, meaning the majority of the students receive free or reduced lunch. The school is gated and the only way to enter is through the office, which protects the staff and students from any intruders.…

Camp is place unlike any other. It is a place that people’s wall begin to fall down and new relationships are formed. This is bound to happen when you drop 200 teenagers in the middle of the Smoky Mountains without any of their electronics. I was lucky enough to be chosen for the Project Serve team and got to see camp from a new perspective. I got to be a part of all of the behind the scenes work, but also daily interactions with all of the campers due to my job at camp.…

Most teenagers would probably tell you that the beginning of their adulthood was marked by having to do laundry for the first time, or being able to drive alone, or perhaps no longer sitting at the children's table at family events. But for me, it happened this past summer, when I made the very difficult decision that I would not return to Coleman Country Day Camp. To those who were not fortunate enough to have grown up at summer camp, this might not seem like such a big decision to make. But Coleman was my outlet, my second home for ten consecutive summers and spending those two months anywhere else seemed inconceivable to me.…

Sleep away camp, is often times a child’s first time away from home for longer than one night. This can be a scary, and overwhelming experience for many children. The society in which children grow up in modern day, is filled with scenarios that most adults can’t comprehend and being away from home as a child worried about these scenarios can compound the associated anxiety and stress in children. Sleep away camps are often times filled with activities: activities that on the surface sound great to adults and caregivers signing the child up for them.…

An ELL student is described as a linguistically and culturally diverse student who is learning the English language in addition to his or her native language. In my current fieldwork experience and to the best of my knowledge, there are no ELLs students attending any of the classes that I currently observe. From what I’ve observed, the classes I attend are not highly diversified by ELL’s, those students who are, seem to speak English fluently with no noticeable difficulty. Therefore, I am unable to give any descriptions on learning accommodations as of now on ELL’s. However, there were many lessons that did observe that accommodated different learning styles, that would also help ELL students if they were present in the classroom, such as, visual, auditory and tactile learning accommodations.…

As my field work at Carter Elementary comes to an end, I can honestly say that nothing better prepares you for working with children than doing just that. No matter how many hours I sit in UTSA’s lecture halls and classrooms, or study the socially just and proper way to respond to each situation, it will never be more beneficial that being in an actual kindergarten class for two hours a week. As we progressed in IDS 2013, I was eager to visit my students in Mrs. Ferguson’s class and witness what I had been learning about in action. I walked out of her class each day having been taught a valuable lesson and understanding myself as a teacher a little bit better. Since my field work was at the same time each week, I would almost always arrive…

Among the advantages of inclusion system, let's consider the disadvantages the most. To the point that every children with disability needs an extra care and attention to an adult or even to a teacher for the reason that they manifest things different from the normal beings. They may manifest behaviors that will require attention and will result into behavioral difficulties (Comfort, 1988; MacCoby, 1983; Roedell 1984). Each student have their extraordinary behaviors which makes a teacher's mind divided into two portions, (1) to understand special children and (2) to manage normal students. These things may tolerate teachers when they hear about "Inclusion System".…

I really enjoyed the time I spent in Mrs. Flinn’s fourth grade classroom over Spring Break. I was able to observe for a total of four hours between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. During my time with the fourth graders, I took a closer look at the solid behavior classroom supports being used. Along with these supports, I was extremely impressed by the way Mrs. Flinn handled classroom management. Even though I observed during a very exciting week, she had great control over her students.…
