Why stay unhappy with a job when you spend most of you adult life working? Your workplace should be full of enjoyment and full of learning opportunities. Not all jobs you obtain will provide you happiness but, you should learn from them what you think best suits you.With my work history, I have come to realize what I feel suits my need as an employee. I will never be happy with a company that doesn’t offer the type of work I would want to spend the rest of my life doing. Likewise, I would eventually like to climb that management ladder to be able to voice my opinions on the treatment of employees. I believe that I would be able to make a difference in someone’s life by just treating them well and respecting the hard work they do all day.
In my work life, I not only want to be happy but, I want to be valued. I want to be respected even when at the bottom of the totem pole. Money plays no part in my decision to work for a company. My most fulfilling job experience was at an office supply store where I made the least amount of money. I was challenged everyday with new situations. I was given the opportunity to help in all departments and was praised when I did so. I was given the leniency to go back to school and change my work schedule to fit my school schedule just so I could finish as soon as possible. In my future, I hope to find a job where I can experience that again.
