The value of happiness is identical to the how most of the world defines pretty, its in the eye of the beholder. Author Kate Chopin shows this in many of her works. Even though the characters in Chopin short stories have the same anatomy that does not mean there alike in the slightest. In the short story “Desiree’s Baby” Desiree is a sweet girl who defines happiness in companionship. Louise Mallard from “The Story of an Hour” defines her happiness in her solitude. Alcee comes and embracing as if he knew he was her weakness and they share another secret far greater than any kiss.
