Simulated role-playing games are played outside and this keeps the kids engaged, mostly for those who do not play sports or any type of outdoor activity. Kids would be running and exercising their body, this is actually a good thing for those people who are not in shape or have health issues. In addition, It probably will take hours to plan and then attack their opponent, that this will help for health issue of being in front of screens. With this being an outdoor activity, it can help fresh kids minds and make them be more active. Another reason is in “ High-Jinks: Shoot-out, ” there is an example that kids were hunting at 10:30 pm at night. If you think about it, at that time most high schoolers would be doing drugs, but instead they are playing this game. Simulated role playing games actually acts as a distraction for high schoolers from drug taking. This game can give a hand in lowering the population in drug taking for teens in the high school. Although the effects may not be long term, should parents simply accept the fact that these games could alter their child’s behavior? From more altercations with peers, to increased aggressive behavior, it seems that these distractions may not be worth the risk. Psychologists may never be capable of measuring the long term affects that participating in these games can have on a child, but the majority of evidence currently available leads to the conclusion that games with simulated violence are not beneficial to children. The problem was identified by some researchers that have done multiple studies to better help parents understand what is really at stake here (“Violent Video Games And Young People”). The problem is caused by the media that have chosen to show violent aggressive manners to the younger children, even if it means adding in violent actions that are not healthy for children.
