“If you don’t have the heart, just leave those kids the hell alone.” These words of Hannah Freese reflect a strong moral of social work. I believe if you do not have the kindness or compassion to help with a family who is struggling and losing everything, than you will only hurt them more than you will help them. Being too compassionate though, is something that needs to be reflected on. While you have to rip a kid from their parent and hold back the tears as they child screams and begs you to let them stay, you have to understand it is for their protection and safety. Social work is not an easy profession to obtain a career in. It is a job that can make you crash and burn mentally and physically. Being a social worker, you are involved twenty-four
