DESCRIPTION
Hank Williams Jr. is a famous musician, singer, and songwriter. His real name is Randall Hank Williams but is nicknamed Hank Williams Jr. and Bocephus. Hank Williams Sr. started calling his son Bocephus after watching Grand Ole Opry comedian, Rod Brasfield, use a puppet named Bocephus in his comedy act. He was born on May 26, 1949 in Shreveport, LA, where he was born and raised. A little less than four years later, his father dies. He has been recently living in Paris, TN.
CAREER
Hank Williams Jr. started his career very early. He first performed when he was 8 years old. He sang his father’s songs and followed in his footsteps. He won many awards such as five country music entertainer of the year awards, CMA’s album of the year award, four straight Emmy awards, CMA and ACM’s top entertainer prize award, and many more. After turning 29, he landed himself a place in the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, that has made him a BMI Icon award winner, and one of the best-selling artists in country music history. He received these awards for his father’s songs.
