Dwight sculpted Hank as if he was swinging at a ball so his stance is at a leaning and turning position. He has has his left foot flat on the ground and his right heel is off he ground with only his toes supporting him from that side of the body. With a few exceptions, human biddies are pretty symmetrical and given that Dwight sculpted a human, he made him pretty symmetrical as well. This sculpture was placed outside meaning that it was made to last and survive no matter what conditions Mother Nature brings. An observation that I made was that he was sculpted to be larger than the size of human. This could be to portray how big of a baseball athlete he was, hints him breaking Babe Ruth's home run record. Although Turner field wasn't even thought of at the time, the placement of this pice of work couldn't have been any better. It is a historic baseball player breaking a historic record, and its found at a historic stadium. In my opinion, the sculptor did a neat job on the sculpture. He really brought out the creases and wrinkles of Hanks clothing. Today Hanks sculpture still remains outside the northern entrance of Turner Field regarding some speculation on the braves wanting to bring it over to their new home at the Sun Trust
