After schedule conflicts preventing my involvement in the program my first two years of high school, I was finally able to attend the actual day of the event in my grade 10 year. When I first arrived at the school, I could not believe the amount of people who were in the gymnasium, willingness donating their Sunday to help pack and deliver the hampers. The gym contained mountains of supplies, where volunteers worked in a cohesive unit to ensure each hamper received the designated amount of items for each family. I was amazed at how efficiently the hampers were packed, as everyone worked tirelessly throughout the morning, packing a seemingly endless supply of food and pleasantries. Without the year after year support from the volunteers at the hamper drive, the event would not be possible, and the holidays would be a much tougher time for many families who would not receive the benefits that the hampers deliver. Even with the numbers of volunteers who help out, if there was not efficient teamwork, the event would not be feasible as the amount of work required to put on the event is substantial. And finally, as someone who lives a fortuitous life, I have since gained an appreciation for what I have and as a result, I have dedicated more of my time into volunteering, with my focus on giving back to those in
