Hammurabi was a very well-known figure in Ancient Mesopotamia. In a legend, Hammurabi was told by the gods that he was to write a series of codes that the gods would give to him. This was one of the best code systems in all ancient civilizations. This law system contained hundreds of codes that shaped the everyday life of the Mesopotamians. These codes would have included codes dealing with items such as divorce laws and farming laws as well. This showed that some ancient civilizations were starting to become more advanced. Hammurabi was the influence many law systems in the future including our own in the United States.
