She had her dowry, so if they divorced she would have some money to live off of until she finds another husband. She could also only bring three dresses, and a few items with little value. The women on ancient Greece could not inherit or own any property. Which is different from ancient Rome, and ancient Egypt.
The women were also not allowed to go out of the house, even for grocery shopping. It was the slaves that went out and did any shopping that was needed for the house. You can’t discriminate against women in the work force, they have equal right to vote, to own property, and a business. We now hold men and women to equal terms. There is no lesser sentence for a man if he commits a crime, then a woman who commits the same crime. We even have women in high class. Like celebrities, in political government and even running for President. You have women being a stay-at-home mom, and taking care of the house, children and family. You also have women who hold high paying jobs, like CEO. As well as women who are running their own business. Then there are women who are single parents, and taking care of their children, and up keep of the house while running a business or
