Gertrude thinks that Hamlet plans to murder her due to the aggressive way he is talking to her and that he is restraining her from moving. Hamlet means that he is going to be her mirror and show her how she’s been acting and who she is inside. Hamlet speaks with such anger because his mother accused him of disappointing his father, when Hamlet believes she is the one disappointing his father, and he hasn’t been able to say so to her directly before; so now that he is given the opportunity, everything he’s had built up starts to explode.
Gertrude’s line “As kill a king?” is important because it shows that she was unaware the Claudius murdered her late husband, and shows that she is not so evil because she clearly was not a part of the act.
