From the beginning of the play one way that Hamlet could have handled the situation more efficiently and helped saved his fate would be when he attempted to kill the king after showing his play. Hamlet spent so much time doing so many other things that were irrelevant to the main mission he had. There were a few days where he taught the play, “You are welcome masters, welcome all”( 2.2.437).Then he announced the date of the upcoming play he was putting on “we’ll hear an play tomorrow,” (2.2.550).. In the movie, he also wasted time watching Ophelia his lover, and acting mad to put on a show. There were many different days he spent doing the wrong things. He should have been completing the task of eliminating the king. After all these events it is completely obvious why Hamlets biggest flaw was procrastination. He pushed so many chances aside, and too much time wasted acting mad. Hamlet's fate was caused by his own procrastination of killing the king which could have saved his own life, but due to Hamlet not doing things on time he ended in a tragic fate.
