Hamlet made the decision to deceive in order to plan the perfect murder of the man who killed his father and seemed to have taken away the affection of his mother. This deception was over long period of time and seemed to have been a part of all his activities. During that time he deceived everyone except Horatio who seemed to have been made aware of the deceptions and the reasons for it. Hamlet flailed to properly avenge his father he did so many things that are unnecessary and I would never do what hamlet did in order to get his revenge.
Hamlet’s behavior was confusing and inconsistent and he even seemed to have deceived himself because he could not separate fact from fiction. This seemed to have played out in his faking madness because his activities were being viewed with suspicion by the people around. He was smart enough to realize that if people think you are mad, they either overlook your actions or they do not pay close attention to the things you do because they consider you are not a threat. Hamlet was so intent on getting the opportunity to carry out his act of revenge that he carried his detection and strange behavior to even more outrageous lengths when he chose to allow his friends to be killed in his place.

However, he succeeded with the expense of his own life. Hamlet going through all the trouble he went through just to die. He killed Claudius as he was dying how is that proper revenge. Claudius got the upper hand on Hamlet and planned a perfect way to kill Hamlet and it worked. Hamlet only kills Claudius because it was his last chance, but there were many chances before that.
