Hamlet's And Ophelia Character Analysis

In Shakespeare’s Hamlet the dysfunctionality of both Hamlet’s and Ophelia’s family contribute to their depression and weird or mad behavior. The relationships between the parents and teens of both family really shows how things such as depression and suicidal thoughts. There are some people however, who would say that those aren’t directly connected with things such as suicide.

The major reason of both Hamlet’s and Ophelia’s behaviors, is the relationships with their families; more so in Ophelia’s case, how she is treated by her family. Polonius in the story really showed that he was the boss over Ophelia, being very strict over her. Polonius forced her to stay away from Hamlet and ruined her relationship with him.
