Hamlet’s initial lover was Ophelia, she won his love and still loved him. Hamlet, however promised to marry her, then he took her innocence then he mistreated her and finally he left her. Ophelia was the cause of Hamlet’s madness because Polonius and Claudius made used her in their plan to figure out why he was insane but she did not know about it until Hamlet found out. This is when Hamlet tells Ophelia:

Hamlet treats Gertrude with harsh words, she is to blame for the hate that now devours him. Gertrude is not an evil character in the play, however, her actions made her responsible for inducing Hamlet’s madness for his hatred for women and for all the tragedies that happen. Hamlet’s madness caused by Gertrude is the reason why he mistreats Ophelia. Both of these women have ended up being controlled by male figures and taken advantage of by Hamlet and other men.
