I believe the reason why I found Hamlet so enjoyable was because it was a tragedy. So many actions and choices made to truly win nothing. By the end of it was never shown if the ghost was redeemed. Hamlet falls along with everyone else with no clear victor.
Plot:
After the death of the late King Hamlet his brother, Claudius, ascended the throne and wed the Queen. Prince Hamlet was not keen to the ordeal and was set onto the path of revenge once his father’s ghost appeared. The ghost of the late King Hamlet told his son that in order to redeem his father Hamlet must rid of his father’s murderer, Claudius.
Characterization:
I always liked a hint of madness in a character so I’ll characterize Hamlet. Hamlet was a man of thought and a good actor. Along with that he was witty with an extremely large vocabulary. He wanted to be a man of action, but the only times he did was when chaos ensued like during Polonius’ death or the end of the book.

Hamlet’s path of revenge upon Claudius began when his deceased father appeared. While going down that path Hamlet killed Polonius which set Laertes down the path. Laertes went after Claudius at first until Claudius redirected it towards Hamlet. Before the beginning of the book, Late King Hamlet killed Old Fortinbras in combat and lost some of Norway’s land. Young Fortinbras showed that he wanted to take revenge upon Denmark and reclaim the land, but it was ceased by his uncle.
Recommendation: I found Hamlet to be fairly enjoyable. I rated it a four out of five stars. I would recommend it to either gender over the age of thirteen. I say thirteen because of the topic of incest and either gender because Shakespeare made it to appeal to both genders along with all social classes. This book is a good start to anyone who wants to begin reading William Shakespeare’s
