Ophelia's insanity is not short brought on. It the cause of long term arguing of her worth whether it's in her virginity or in her love to give up her virginity. Hamlet's insanity was loud and filled with antics. Whereas ophelia's was more of a quiet insanity filled with riddles and music. Hamlet's first act of insanity was running into ophelia's room and grabbing her and running out. Ophelia's was singing songs of betrayal and the death of her father, and then handing out flowers. Hamlet's insanity can be compared as a more aggressive and obscene route as Ophelia's was a mournful and musical insanity. Both of their insanity feeds off of reactions hamlet feeds off the disgust and arguments off of his obscenity, Ophelia looks for console and peace which she does with the flowers and songs. Another difference between their bouts of insanity is how their insanity ends. They both end in death but the way they die is reflective upon the beginning of their insanity. Hamlets end is sudden,violent and dramatic, he ends with a sword fight with many murders. Ophelia’s death is very passive and almost unnoticed.
