In this poem, Hamlet uses numerous figurative of language to express his feelings towards the relationship with her mother regards his father and his uncle and his remorse towards women negative stereotypes. One of the figurative of language that points out to me after reading the poem was symbolism. Hamlet titled the poem, “FRAILTY, THY NAME IS WOMAN!” frailty is the condition of being weak and delicate which symbolizes women are weaker than men. His mother Gertrude is delicate because she has betrayed Hamlet's dad by marrying Claudius and this happened within a month. He curses his mother for being weak morally, spiritually and physically. In other words, women in general for the act of his mother because they need men to survive. Furthermore,

Communication is the basis for human life and maintaining healthy relationships. Language is how individuals are able to vocalize their intentions, feelings and ideas. Characters that are able to control their use of language and balance it with action are users of authentic action according to Paulo Freire. In the play, Hamlet, Claudius effectively takes action but doesn’t reflect at all and that causes him to be a victim of inauthentic language. In passage one Shakespeare uses diction and metaphor to show the reader the current mental state of Hamlet. The passing of his father is having a dramatic effect on him, while everyone else seems to be passing it off like it never happened. This includes his mother, who married his uncle just two months after his fathers death. Obviously this is a lot to take in for Hamlet and it puts him in a position where he doesn't know what to do with the emotions he's feeling. Hamlet is considering taking his own life.…

Playwright, William Shakespeare, in his tragedy, Hamlet, utilizes the main character Hamlet to vocalize his contemplations between life and death. His purpose is to argue that suicide is feasible, although it is viewed as immoral and those who attempt are considered libertines. Shakespeare emphasizes the thorough examination that Hamlet does in regards to his painful life while at the same time being indecisive and fearing the afterlife that would come once he committed suicide. He adopts a somber tone in order to appeal to similar emotions of suffering and pain to convince the audience that life brings upon more troubles than death and ergo, should not be forced upon anyone. Although children often have a close relationship with their parents, Hamlet’s anger with his mother’s demeanor regarding Claudius, shows that past interactions with women can set inequitable stereotypes and prospects on women holistically. In Hamlet’s first soliloquy, he is saddened by his father's death , but his feelings soon transition to anger due of his mother's lack of grief. Hamlet feels betrayed by Gertrude and commences to have a negative view on all women: Must I remember? Why, she would hang on him As if increase of appetite had grown By what it fed on, and yet, within a month— Let me not think on ’t. Frailty, thy name is woman!—…

Gertrude submits to Claudius by marrying him without hesitation, rather than thinking for herself and taking the opportunity to become a self-sufficient, independent woman that would dispute the norm. She has a tendency to please men to fulfil her taught instinct for self-preservation—which, of course, makes her extremely passive and dependent upon the men in her life. Hamlet’s comment about Gertrude is his furious condemnation of women in general: “Frailty, thy name is woman!” (Act 1 Scene 2). “Frailty” produces images of a frail, weak elderly woman who would rely on someone to help with almost all activities which to a great extent shows how little strength Gertrude has.…
