Hamlet Character Analysis Essay:
The play Hamlet was written by William Shakespeare during the 16th century. Hamlet who is the main character in the play, is very emotionally unstable and considered by many to be crazy. Three key words that one could use to describe Hamlet is impulsive, dissatisfied and suicidal. Hamlet has lived an extremely troubled life, facing many disasters hardships, he is fueled by anger from the death of his father and how his mother married his father brother so soon after her husband's death. Aside from anger Hamlet is also consumed with much confusion which has lead him to be considered as these three words.

The readers can tell that Hamlet is very depressed which leads to him being considered suicidal, from the first few scenes of the play. Hamlet sees the world as very corrupt and wishes he wasn't a part of it. Hamlet knows that suicide is a sin, which causes Hamlet a huge amount of conflict within himself. In Act 3, Scene 1, Page 127 is where Hamlet's most known soliloquy occurs, Hamlet says “To be, or not to be: that is the question...Devoutly to be wish’d. to die,- to sleep;-..). When Hamlet asks the question “to be, or not to be..” he is talking about whether to live or to die, then he references death to sleeping and how to him suicide is what he wants.
These three words impulsive, dissatisfied and suicidal describe the main Character Hamlet. In conclusion Hamlet has become a very unhappy and tortured person due to the hardships he has been dealt. These characteristics make Hamlet a very easy person for readers to relate to, by the reader seeing him so depressed and driven mad by the death of his father and the fact that he must wait to take revenge that the reader can almost forgets how actually crazy Hamlet
