Hamlet after being assured of Claudius’s guilt, gets an opportunity to kill Claudius but stops.”Up, sword, and know thou a more horrid hent.” Hamlet here stops his sword midair and contemplates the implications of murdering Claudius and decides that killing him before a prayer will get him sent to heaven and thats something Hamlet cannot accept as his father killed unjustly is being tormented in hell and decides to wait to kill him later.This begins Hamlet’s undoing as Claudius also knows that Hamlet suspects him and now will take measures to protect himself not limited to having Hamlet killed.
