Hamlet is a play that was written by Shakespeare where the plot of the story is where Hamlet seeks revenge for his father’s murder. Hamlet uses grief and acts mad to where no one suspects him of being a danger to anyone. There are a few important themes in this play, which include lies and deceit and also revenge. Hamlet is one of the main characters in the story where he finds out who killed his father and plots revenge hamlet. Hamlet gets into a frenzy when he is talking to his mom because she gets scared that he is going to hurt her he hears someone behind the curtains he stabs hoping it is Claudius, but it turns out it is Polonius, he does not flinch at murdering someone all he wants is for it to be his uncle “Nay, I know not. Is it the King?” (3.4.28). Hamlet is not worried at the thought that he just murdered Polonius, he was just hoping it was his stepfather. Because hamlet acted insane Claudius decides it’s time to send hamlet away because hamlet knows Claudius murdered his father and he doesn’t want to die next. When he tries to send hamlet away, he sends a letter telling the king of England to go ahead and murder Hamlet.
In this play Hamlet is seen as a very perverted man because of this era a lot of the things most characters say could mean very sexual things but Hamlet is far worse than anyone else. Hamlet will ask something that is borderline without the audience knowing if it’s sexual or not “Lady, shall I lie my head upon your lap/ No, my lord./I mean my head upon your lap./ Ay, my lord./ do you think I meant country matters?”(3.2.94-98). Being a male the thought of revenge like murder is not uncommon, it happens all the time where a son gets revenge by killing someone. With a female character they could still murder, but it would not be as likely. The end of Hamlet was an important part because that is when hamlet outs his Uncle and to where a lot of murders starts to happen. Many people believe that when King Hamlet sent away to England and he returned, they believed him to be changed “They maintain that he has come to terms with his self-identity, with his morality and with his destiny. The claim is that being away from the toxic and suffocating atmosphere of the Danish court has restored Hamlet to his best self and that is revealed in his cunning exchange of letters in the possession of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern”
