Halsey is a talented artist that already has a debut EP called Room 93, which was released on October 27th, 2014. Her voice finally made an impressing appearance when she debuted her full length album: Badlands in August 2015. Which excited every Halsey fan to the point of freaking out all over Twitter. Badlands debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. That great album also sold 97,000 copies in the first-week sales. Halsey was born on September 29, 1994. Halsey was raised in New Jersey, her real name being Ashley Frangipane. She started her career by covering songs on her Youtube channel---under her real name. She first made a parody of the song, I Knew You Were Trouble by Taylor Swift and posted on her Tumblr account. Her song gained attention, good or bad, that left most fans appreciating her humor. That was the beginning of her career. Ashley then recorded a song called Ghost and posted it on Soundcloud, where she gained a lot more attention. She then signed with the …show more content…
Halsey also possesses a mental illness, called Bipolar disorder. But this doesn’t stop her from being the best person she can be. A direct quote from her: “The thing about having bipolar disorder, for me, is that I’m really empathetic. I feel everything around me so much... I used to say to [my mom] all the time, like, ‘I hate this. I want to be naïve. I want to be worried about my prom dress. I want to be worried about getting my math homework done. I want to be like everyone else my age,’ and she would say, ‘Would you rather be blissfully ignorant or would you rather be pained and aware?’ That was one of the things that’s kind of followed with me through my whole life.
