The hallway is lit by a single light attached to the middle of the popcorn ceiling. There used to be two lights but one bulb flickered and died leaving the hallway dim. The popcorn ceiling is picked off and gone in some spots, mostly around the light and close to the walls. There are also a few tan stains that are darker around the edges and lighter almost white as they go in. The stains might be water stains from who ever lived in the house before.
The flooring in the hallway is a worn dark blue carpet from the 90’s with a faded zigzag design that was once probably in style and much more interesting then it is now. Near the end of the hallways where it splits like a “T” the carpet bumps up where a pipe was put in during a very cheap renovation. The bump creaks when it’s stepped on. The pieces constantly get caught in the vacuum if they are not continuously trimmed every time they start to unravel more. Because the current residents and the previous residents both owned serval pets the blue carpet no matter how often it’s vacuumed ,steam cleaned or sprayed down permanently smells of dog and is usually covered in animal fur.
The floor and ceiling of this short hallways are old, patchy and not the prettiest but the walls make up for it adding . The walls are covered in photographs. small cingular photos in frames hanging on the wall and large frames full of several photos all showing years and years or family. The oldest photograph on the wall is a small sepia photograph of a little girl in a school dress sitting sideways staring at the camera with a big smile on her face. The school photo sits in the middle of a larger frame near the very end of the hallway.
The newest photo is of a large family, a mother and father, Six children all different age groups. The picture is shiny with bright colorers. All of the photos in between are places along the side walls of the
