Halloween Should Be Allowed In School

Decent Essays
I think that schools should celebrate Halloween. They should be able to represent their costumes. They can have a break from school work and have a party with their class or the whole school. They can walk around their track if they have one. Or the school can do fun school work that involves Halloween.

In one of the passages it said that one school plans a couple of days of fun but school work about Halloween. You could learn about plant cycles then learn about pumpkin life cycle. Then you can put your costume on and have a walk around the school inside or outside. You can use math skills to find out the mode of the costumes in the grade. You can also watch a fun movie about Halloween and have snacks. After you watch the movie you can read

With Halloween taking place just about a month ago and me being a first-year college student, I found it suitable to choose a topic that related to both college and the holiday that so many of America’s youth actively participate in these days. So, I began my research; through countless amounts of Google searches and digging through all sorts of news websites, I finally found an interesting article from The New York Times. The title was “Why Halloween at College Is So Frightening” and was written by a man named Mark Bauerlein who teaches at Emory University. The periodical starts off by explaining the scary effects that Halloween can induce on the students and administration across many of today’s college campuses. This is particularly because…

As I passed through downtown Atlanta, I couldn't help admire the home of the Braves, not just because it was an architectural wonder but because it brought back to mind that very first lesson when Professor Van Huevelen sparked my curiosity when he said we find that there are some things in this world that are repeatable. Repeatable. Repeatable. So a baseball pitcher, if he throws a ball with the same speed and in the same direction, spinning the ball the same, it'll end up going about the same place.…

The author doesn’t comprehend why there are parents who allow their children to participate in these kinds of events. The author then proceeds to assert that she doesn’t “get Halloween, ..the celebration, ..the pumpkins” and overall the “creepy ghostly” features on houses. The adoption of repetition is to prompt the idea to the audience that the whole celebration is chaotic to her and shows the reason why she has written this article. Moreover, the comment attached was written by another parent, Ellie, conveys an opposite point of views from Warren’s. Ellie informs in a relaxed tone that she views Halloween as a “street party” as the other parents are able to “chat, ..meet now neighbours” and the “kids (are able to) get some excitement” during this event.…

Radford used a good outline as far as the order the points went. It made sense and transitioned well into the next paragraph. I liked the idea of learning how Halloween was influenced. It makes you think about the history a little more than just kids dressing up in costumes and “begging” for treats. Halloween is such an exciting time of year, and I am so glad we are able to celebrate…
