Halloween Night Costumes

It was a cold, dark and dingy Halloween night. The moon was full, although it was mostly covered by weightless fog and charcoal black clouds. The sky was just as creepy as all the realistic costumes. The night was perfect for Halloween night. The crisp leaves on the trees rattled when the wind blew. When people walk on the fallen leaves, they would crunch like someone was eating potato chips. People were everywhere, walking up and down, around and through the neighborhoods. Some were wearing cute, colored, sparkly costumes and others were wearing the complete opposite. Some so realistic that you could not tell if it was a costume or not, just like the man behind the mask. My family and I just got done trick-or-treating since it was becoming dark out. I was only 6 so we did not trick-or-treat late since it got scarier as the night grew older. My parents, who just got done trick-or-treating with us, were invited to a Halloween party. They put on their costumes, my mom was Meredith Grey and my dad was Derek Shepherd from Grey’s Anatomy. When they were done getting ready they left, and we were all alone. We could faintly see the light from upstairs like it is a light at the end of the tunnel. When we turned back around to see why the basement light went out on the electrical box, there was a tall person in a black as night cape, standing there with a light shining over his bright red, bloody, scream mask. We ran like the wind, crying and screaming. We were running through the house turning on all the lights, but then the man behind the mask would just turn them back off. We all ran upstairs to my brothers room to have him help us, but he was gone. The only thing on our minds was that we were going to die, not thinking what if it was just Nick playing a prank on
