"Did you see that guy? He gave me a grimy look! You know, this is why I hate Halloween.“ a boy informed some folks “Calm down, Brandon. Just ignore it,“ one of his friends suggested to him. “It's honesty not that vital,“ another one of his friend told him. Brandon exclaims,“ I don't know why you guys like Halloween anyway. It's becoming old. Tom, why can't you just read and study instead of going around the neighborhood instead of going with me?“ “I like Halloween. It’s fascinating isn't it, Jerry?“ Tom asked.
“It sure is!“ Jerry exclaims. Then, they kept talking until… “Hey, where are we?“ Brandon says. “I don't know, but I see a house nearby. We can ask for directions,“ Tom told them. They rushed to the front porch of the house. “It

“Right here, guys,” Tom frighteningly told them. “What happened?” Brandon says. “Something touched me! On my neck! Its hands were so cold! Luckily, I swiped it, but turned off the flashlight while doing that. It must've opened again when the flashlight hit the ground,” explained Tom. “Let’s try to find another way out,” suggested Jerry. Looking around, they arrived to a room. “Is that a stove? It looks pretty old,” Tom investigated. “Its… warm. The stove was probably used until now,” Exclaimed Jerry. “But who would live in this old scrap?” Brandon asked. They found a staircase leading upstairs. “You can advance first,” Tom told Brandon. “Why?” Brandon asked suspiciously. “I reckon you’re the bravest,” Jerry laughed. Brandon proceeded to first. They soon arrived to a hallway. It was dusty and filled with cobwebs. “Whoever cleaned this place did an extraordinary amount of effort on this place,” Brandon murmured sarcastically. “Which door should we choose?” Jerry asked. “Lets pick this one,” Tom pointed to a door which some of the wood was peeling off. Looking around, Brandon asks,”This looks like…, a playroom. You know, like when children play around with a plentiful of …show more content…
Mysteriously, the lights came back on, but someone was missing in their group. “Um, where’s Jerry?” asked Brandon to Tom. “I...I don’t know,” Tom answered. Brandon sensed Tom’s answer wasn’t true because of his tone, but played along. “We should find Jerry. Wasn’t Jerry the one who played the jukebox?” Brandon asked. Looking around, they realized the jukebox was gone as well. They arrived back to the hallway. “Let's proceed to this room,” Brandon suggested. He opened the door and felt the ground give away. He was falling, but swiftly was grabbed by the last moment from a mysterious old man. Gasping, Brandon asked,”Who are you? You’re quite diminutive for a grown man,” Brandon saw the old man’s gaze and he didn’t feel right. His gaze looked unreal. The old man’s size wasn’t right either. It’s almost like he’s the same height someone he knows. “I’m Baron. I live here by myself,” the old man answered in a raspy voice. “Can you lead us out?” Brandon asked in a frightened voice. The old man didn’t respond. “Hello?” shrieked Brandon. “Yes, I’ll lead you out. Beware, there’s loads of traps set up,” he finally answered. Walking around, Brandon trips over something. Suddenly, the flashlight turns

To many, the end of October is a time of corn mazes, costume parties, and haunted houses. Many cultures celebrate harvest festivals during October, though none are as well-known as Halloween. Because Halloween is primarily descended from the Celtic festival of Samhain, when some think of Halloween, they think of bats and cats and witches. However, although Halloween as it is currently know is a wholly American creation with regional rituals handed down by generations, it did not become a “full-blown American holiday” until the turn of the century (Bannatyne). Because of the contemporary nature of Halloween, without Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, Sylvia Plath’s “Lady Lazarus”, and George A. Romero’s Night Of The Living Dead, the holiday as we…

Halloween is like a horror movie, except with drunk teenagers instead of axe murders. It was about two years ago, when we were still living in Germany. It was a fairly peaceful Halloween night and the sun was about to set. My friends and I were walking around the village, what Germans call a town. After about half an hour of us walking around and talking, some acne filled, tall, muscular and older, German teenagers came up to us.…

The author doesn’t comprehend why there are parents who allow their children to participate in these kinds of events. The author then proceeds to assert that she doesn’t “get Halloween, ..the celebration, ..the pumpkins” and overall the “creepy ghostly” features on houses. The adoption of repetition is to prompt the idea to the audience that the whole celebration is chaotic to her and shows the reason why she has written this article. Moreover, the comment attached was written by another parent, Ellie, conveys an opposite point of views from Warren’s. Ellie informs in a relaxed tone that she views Halloween as a “street party” as the other parents are able to “chat, ..meet now neighbours” and the “kids (are able to) get some excitement” during this event.…
