Hallmark Analysis

Every year an Honors Program Guide is created and issued to the various Phi Theta Kappa chapters. It is these guides that provide the themes in which every chapter’s projects are based around. Each of these projects also falls under one of the Hallmark categories, which are Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Fellowship. The Hallmark applications take strategic coordination and require the person currently working on them have access to the quantitative and qualitative information which regards to your project’s results. In order to have access to this information the officer team will also have to keep detailed notes throughout the length of the project. While all of this sounds as if it can be overwhelming as long as you are dedicated and delegate tasks then this mountain of a task soon seems like an anthill. Each of the Hallmarks also has their own meanings. Scholarship is there to promote PTK members to continue to push themselves academically and also seek higher learning. These Hallmarks are also something that has to be extremely detailed and polished; this is due to the limited word count to explain such a broad topic. While I have never had the opportunity to work or edit any of the Hallmarks, I have heard plenty about them from the current officer team. I assume this experience would be something that could be taxing and stressful, but in the end would result in a very rewarding feeling. All of this described above would be a good bit more difficult without the Honors Program Guide. The guide provides students with ideas and then also ensures students keep their project related to the chosen theme.
