Rick and Fred are best friends, married to two women who are also best friends. With unhappy sex lives, both of the men begin to realize the memories of their single days are foggy and start fantasizing about what could be. Once their wives realize this, they are granted a “hall pass,” which allows them to have a week off from marriage, with no conditions. With some skepticism to begin, the men quickly agree with the proposed offer. Two of the main things that both of these couples need to work on are their individual qualities and interaction between the partners. They must work towards being more emotionally healthy and improve interpersonal skills in order to provide higher levels of empathy and consideration for each other. This will help them come to resolutions together and lead to a strong relationship. Another thing both couples must work towards is problem solving and satisfaction.
