A role model of mines is Amandla Stenberg. Amandla Stenberg is teen actress who uses her platform to educate and advocates the youth. Amandla Stenberg has spoken on issues such as cultural appropriation, the usage of characteristics of a culture by people who are apart of another culture in a disrespectful manner, in today’s society. I look up to her because she spreading messages that deserved to be hear and taken in. She is a young intellectual millennial who doesn’t want to see history repeat itself. She wants to be stop this vicious cycle of white supremacy, oppression, and discrimination and that’s what I adore about her. Another role model of is a musician named Tyler Okonma (Tyler, The Creator). Tyler is my role model because he is such a carefree and confident individual. He doesn’t care about people’s opinion and does things for his happiness. His ability to do that is an inspiration because in a world like this, it’s hard to remain positive and not care about opinions. Not only that, but he uses his platform to benefit the LGBTQ+ community and many more. His music also contains positive messages that can change how people look at life. The other role model of mines is a pair. My parents, are one of my role models. I know this might seem cliché, but my parents to me, are the definition of hardworking. Being immigrants from Haiti, it was hard to grow accustom to the American lifestyle, but they did. Everyday my parents work and work just to fulfill my needs and my siblings’ needs. Even though the jobs they had and have weren’t what they wanted to do and/or it wasn’t paying well, they didn’t stop and complain. They continued and put my siblings’ and I happiness before
