Hailey Burns was inside her home in Ballantyne, North Carolina when her parents, Shaunna, and Anthony Burns went to sleep, but when they woke up, found the door unlocked, and their 16-year-old daughter was gone.

Over a year later, Hailey was found in Duluth, Georgia, WSOC reports. Hailey's mother said:

“It was a dream come true."
The now 17-year-old that vanished on May 23. 2016, was found in a home with 31-year-old Michael Ren Wysoloyski after a tip led police to that address.

The girls parents said it was a tipster that contacted Hailey to find out her location, she wasn't sure where she was, but a picture she took from a window in the house had police rescuing her within hours. Shaunna said:

“We got the first message at 8:09 p.m. and then by 12:32 a.m. they had her.”

Hailey's mom described what Wysoloyski did once he had her daughter away from her family:

“He got her in the car, brought her straight to his house and she pretty much had to stay there the whole time.”
WBTV reports the victim's dad, Anthony, described how Wysoloyski, who met his daughter online, was able to lure her daughter into his sick plan of stealing her from her parents:

“He gradually wormed his way into her good graces, he coerced her into listening to him and not following our directions and the next thing I knew my daughter wasn’t communicating with me.”
Anthony had already received a frightening tip from his daughter's classmate about her growing relationship with the man she met online after his daughter
