The article I completed my research on was “ Isaiah 14 and Habakkuk 2: Two Taunt songs against the same tyrant?” In this article the author contrasts Isaiah 14 and Habakkuk 2 and speaks on the similarities between the two rulers mentioned. The reason for comparing Isaiah 14 and Habakkuk 2 is because of the prominent monarch figure in both of the passages and the taunt songs that accompany it. Even though Isaiah and Habakkuk were written by different people, the author of this article makes his claim that they are speaking of the same end - time dictator.…

God communicated complementary messages through Haggai and Zechariah during the post exilic period. The message of Haggai was one to encourage the “reconstruction of the temple of God” (Hill&Walton, 2009, p.680) and also to rebuild their faith and worship. First, however, Haggai had to address the selfishness of the people; he “rebukes the community...for their preoccupation with personal comforts” (p.681). But the community, by putting off their selfishness, would find favor and the people of Israel would “revive the flow of God’s covenant blessings” (p.683). The message of Zechariah complemented Haggai's, it was one of repentance, rebuke, spiritual renewal and encouragement (p.688, 691).…

When you walk into a church you may realize that there are serval paintings, but what you may have not noticed is their significance. If you look at each painting closely you may notice that they tell a story. The Nativity with the Prophets Isaiah and Ezekiel is a piece of art history which uses iconography and religion to create a narrative. The Nativity is not only a piece of art, but it also is an altarpiece. Since an altar is where offerings for a church are held, the images that appeared on the altarpiece carry the most significance.…

Habakkuk is the 36th book of the Bible and is ascribed to Habakkuk from the Old Testament Minor Prophets. The book of Habakkuk is a dialogue between God and His prophet. When God answered and told Habakkuk that He intended to use the Babylonians to judge Judah Habakkuk struggled to understand why He would use a nation even more evil and wicked than His people?…
