Several large crimstance effect my family everyday. My Mom and I have lived alone since the death of my Dad in 2014. My Dad passed away after a failed liver transplant after being sick in the years leading up to his death. He went on disability shortly after being diagnosed with non alcoholic cirrhosis(NASH) of the liver. After his death my Mom was able to receive survivor benefits because I am the child of a railroader. The benefits will stop after I graduate from high school. The benefits have income limit that my Mom was fearful of going over. Due to this condition my Mom decided that I should work a small part time job. Doing this allows us to keep my survivor benefits, and it also lets me focus on school. My mom was working two jobs until April of 2016. This has caused our income to drop by $15,900. I want to take my love for government and interest in other cultures a career. My ambition is to work for the U.S. State Department, and to someday become an ambassador for the USA. I want to have a real and lasting affect on how international politics is conducted. Through my work I also hope to travel the world and experience as many diverse cultures as possible. Hopefully I will become successful enough to give back to thoses who also face financial struggles in obtaining a college education.
