Haematopoietic Cancer Personal Statement

I am writing to express my interest for the PhD position in your working group on the topic of haematopoietic cancer research.I had always been interested in immunological responses and I would be very excited to apply it together with my skills and knowledge to make a step against cancer. I dream to be part not only of basic science but also to make an investigation that can be directly applied for the sake of humanity. Reading the papers from your group, brought me to conclusion that I not only share with you and your group the interest in cancer research, but that I acquired most of the techniques you are currently using in the ongoing projects.
My training in molecular biology research started during my bachelor studies in the group of Prof. Kavsan in Kyiv where I studied role of CHI3L2 protein in context of AKT pathways and glioma cancer. I received a broad training in main molecular biological methods and applied it to investigate the role of phosphorylation of our target protein in cell proliferation. I worked not only

So I started my PhD at MFPL under supervision of young group leader Dr. Slade. But you would probably ask why am I applying to your group if I already have a PhD position and I want to be honest and give you answer immediately to avoid misunderstanding. Right after I started my PhD my group had to challenge serious money problems. I manage to win an uni-doc fellowship from the University of Vienna but unfortunately as a PhD student I had no other possibilities to receive grants for material costs. Like this at the end of my first year I am in the difficult situation with a fellowship for 3 years but without money to do experiments. At this point me and my supervisor decided that it will be better for both of us to look for another group rather that spend more time hoping for a grant or switching for a less ambitious

Dear Hiring Manager, Earlier this month I submitted my resume for the Special Operations Coordinator position that was advertised on your website. To date, I have not yet heard from your office and would like to confirm receipt of my application. I am still very interested in working at Science 37, Inc. and I believe that my skill set, highly relevant academic background and pervious experiences make me an ideal candidate for this position. In particular, the experiences I had during my two years as an experiment leader in an ecology research lab and my four year involvement as a member and the president of Global Brigades make me a strong fit for this position.…

In addition, it was a pleasure to discuss my love of music and some of the ways in which my world travels with the Philadelphia Boys Choir will impact me as a physician. Although I quickly learned the ins and outs of stem cell research through many hours of practicing new techniques, I also realized the hardships that come along with research. I can vividly remember the first time I was able to show that knocking out an isoform of the Musashi gene led to fewer and smaller tumors on the intestines of mice, only after 5 months of work. I have always been intrigued by the ability of medicine to not only decrease mortality but also decrease morbidity through research. Recently, I have been testing new drug therapies in mice used as models of human cancers. To be involved in the translational science spectrum of medicine has further inspired me to pursue a career in medicine.…
