Caring, protective, cold, angry, who does this sound like... certainly not Hades, the God of the Underworld, or should I say Hadrian. When Spencer Perry's boyfriend Micah died, she just knew there was an underworld where she could make a deal with Hades. When she meets Hades, he isn't at all what she thought he was, least of all not his proposal. She was to spend 6 months in the underworld, but when weird things start to happen on the surface, invisible forces attacking people, who else is there to blame except for Hadrian. She made the deal, and there is no going back now. Has Spencer unleashed hell on earth? We find out a little more about a complex Greek god who isn't who he really seems to be. He as a person is really complex, his actions are surprising, but not as surprising as his motivation in the story. …show more content…
He is Hades, but that's where the myths get it wrong; his real name is Hadrian. There are triplets who help run the underworld. He is one of those triplets, the God of the Underworld, his brother Thayer is the God of Death, he sends the spirits to the Underworld. The last brother's name isn't mentioned, but he is the God of Sleep. The part that Hadrian loves to deny, but the myths got it right was his first love Persephone. She was a grave walker; she can die and come back; she can even will spirits back to life. Hadrian encounters her, falls madly in love with her, but Thayer does the same, ending in an epic battle. Eventually they realize Persephone is mad with power and has to be killed. When Hadrian meets Spencer, another grave walker, he can't help but want to protect her. Hadrian will be cold and angry; but at the same time, he is passionate, protective, and caring. He is overcome with doubt and is unsure whether he should trust Spencer, because she doesn't know the power she possesses. He is faced with a difficult decision, but decides to make a deal
