Long ago there was a Titan ruler by the name of Cronus and his wife was Rhea. Cronus was prophesied of being dethroned by one of his sons ("Cronus (Kronos, Chronos, Saturn)"). To prevent this from happening he would swallow each child right after they were born. But since they were immortal they didn’t die. Years later the youngest brother Zeus (who had been hidden away by their mother to prevent him from also being swallowed) made Cronus vomit up his siblings ("Hades, Greek God of the Underworld." ). And that was how Hades came to be. Hades was the god of the Underworld. Hades did not control who lived or died on earth. His main job was to run things down in the Underworld, the place where you went after you died ("Hades."). Specifically
