I thought she was this very intricate character able to be the command in the strategy of war as compared to the violence that the god, Ares, incited through war. She was a strong goddess who remained an essential factor in the different myths of Greece, such as the beginnings of Athens. Particularly now, I find Hades as my favorite because he was a god who for the most part, he left the mortal world alone. He remained in the underworld, only ever really dealing with heroes when they came into his domain, such as when Theseus and Pirithous went to the underworld to take Persephone and when Hercules entered the underworld for Cerberus. Similar to Odysseus’ treacherous journey home, my odyssey through middle school had its moments of success and defeat, happiness and frustration, and absolute uncertainty. From being adrift on my makeshift raft in a vast sea of sixth graders to my final days in middle school, I have obtained many new traits comparable to Odysseus’. As a new sixth grader, I was optimistic and hopeful of the years to come, analogous to Odysseus’ confidence that he would ultimately return to Ithaca. Through seemingly endless hours of studying, I gained the ability to make sacrifices and prioritize in order to succeed. Odysseus also demonstrated this skill when making decisions and sacrifices in acute situations to benefit as many people as possible.…

Also being how idealized his figure is, how confidently he stands, and how others surround him, his figure may also be seen as a hero; almost as if he had just done something heroic. Persephone: Queen of the Underworld Persephone was one of the most important Goddesses in ancient Greece, and she is still revered by modern-day Pagans, especially Dianic Wiccans.
