When people think of Hacksaw Ridge they think the movie, but Hacksaw Ridge really happened. The date was April 29, 1945. It was the battle for Hacksaw Ridge and Okinawa. It was one of the most bloodiest battles during World War II . Okinawa is a big island by Japan that had underground tunnels and trenches so the Japanese soldiers could get around so they could sneak up on the American soldiers. America wanted control over Japan because they bombed Pearl Harbor. f America got control of Hacksaw Ridge it might change the tide of the war and it might make Japan stop helping the Nazi’s with suplies and recources. America wanted Japan to sign a peace treaty before the battle for hacksaw ridge started.
