The first piece preformed in the senior recital was the second movement of Parita No. 3 in E Major, by Johann Sebastian Bach called “Loure.” This piece is from the baroque period and like many pieces from that time, it was extremely emotionally involved. 20. This piece was another sorrowful tune that provoked emotion from the audience. This piece was a brilliant transition song considering it is slow and gloomy at the beginning then turns to upbeat and happy near the conclusion of the tune.
The third installment of the senior recital was the first movement of Concerto No. 3 in B Minor, Op. 61, “Allegro non troppo,” composed by Camille Saint- Saëns. In this piece, Ha-Eun Song was accompanied by Ui-su Shin on the piano. Together these two magicians harmonized, flourishing as one with beautiful melodies.
This next portion of the senior recital included four pieces for two violins and piano. Prelude, Gavotte, Waltz, and Polk all composed by Dmitri Shostakovich were played by Ha-Eun Song (violinist one), Eun-Ah Go (violinist two), and Ui-su Shin (piano).
