According to Doug Campos-Outcalt, MD of the University of Arizona Department of Family and Community Medicine, the intentions of HIPAA are “to protect the public from unauthorized access to, use of, and disclosure of individually identifiable health information”(Campos-Outcalt, 2004).

In healthcare, one of the largest and most demanding careers would be nursing. Nursing is one of the toughest, but most rewarding careers out there.
