When researching Hélène’s life, we came across her actual diary she kept during the Holocaust. It had …show more content…
Some things we found out were that she loved to play the violin and go to the movies as well as shop down her favorite market street. Hélène also attended University to study French and English literature. She loved her life and life seemed to love her back, until France was invaded and her life was turned upside down. Since she was of Jewish faith, she could no longer do her favorite things or even attend school. We read all of this information straight from Hélène’s journal that held all of her thoughts and memories.
To organize our information, we put all of our sources and research into a document that we could always refer back to when conducting our project. We decided to make an exhibit discussing the life and legacy of Hélène Berr. We felt that an exhibit would showcase her impact well because we could easily add as much information as we like. We made our exhibit from a tri-fold board and had a collage of everything that meant something to Hélène as well as her quotes and a timeline. We wanted to focus on the good things in her life and what made Hélène, Hélène.
Hélène took a stand by continuing to express herself through her writing even when she knew it could get her into extreme trouble. She also stayed in France to help fight the Nazis’ when she had multiple chances to leave. Hélène Berr thought of others before herself and stood up
